Henry Rowley makes his much anticipated Fringe debut with an hour-long show filled with sketches. Very quickly you realise why this charismatic and funny individual has the audience in the palm of his hands.
The show is a celebration of Rowley’s TikTok and Instagram sketches, as well as giving us a glimpse into the different characters that live inside his mind and these come alive on stage. Rowley even highlights that sometimes he sees himself slipping into the characters on occasions. Like on TikTok, his sketch comedy is fast-paced and flows very quickly from one character to another.
Some of the highlights included his takes on what some men are like on dating apps, as well as a man’s view on what a wonderful and peaceful place the women’s toilets must be. He also routes some of the humour on class divides with one of his characters coming from a modern 7-bedroom home. These observations and characters play fun at different angles and people in British life and make his comedy relatable to each audience member.
Throughout this fast-paced show, you feel you come to realise that whatever Henry is doing, audiences are loving it.
